Here it is folks! The mack-daddy massage gun you have been waiting for!
Bob and Brad, the infamous “two-most famous physical therapists on the internet,” have topped off their massage gun series with the X6 Pro massage gun.
This recent addition is one of their best models by far with more power, force, and longer battery life. But let’s not spoil all the details just yet.
So, how did Bob and Brad do this? And how does it compare to other popular brands? Keep reading to find out more.
But first, let’s recap what the purpose of a massage gun is…
What is percussion therapy?
Percussion therapy is a continuously growing and trending topic in the health and fitness world, with studies showing it to help relieve muscle tension, reduce stress, and improve overall health.
If you have ever had a massage, you know how many benefits you can feel in just moments after loosening your muscles.
Essentially, the idea of an at-home massage gun is to receive all these benefits from the convenience and comfort of your own home.
So how does it work?
Anyone with an active lifestyle has probably experienced soreness, this occurs from a process known as DOMS.
Studies show that percussion therapy works to penetrate sore, tense, or tight muscles through repetitive vibrations in the sore muscle fiber.
The process loosens up the muscles while breaking down scar tissue and flushing out waste build-up in the targeted area.
For athletes, this is critical for recovery and optimal range of motion.
The vibrations stimulate healthy blood flow to the muscle, encouraging the broken-down tissue to heal.
But massage therapy is not just for athletes.
Percussion therapy is great for just about anyone. Not only does it help with recovery it also aids in stress relief, desk-related injuries, and more.
You deserve the best recovery
The X6 Pro massage gun is one of the best for your buck out there, offering the best recovery massage at reasonable pricing.
This massage gun offers a high-grade professionally designed torque motor that penetrates the muscles up to 10.5 mm at a rate of up to 3200 RP and up to 40lbs of force.
Compared to their other models the X6 Pro offers more force, power, and depth packed into one machine.
These features are the key to this model.
Why? Because any other model that offers this much power costs twice as much!
Bob and Brad really focused on keeping their devices affordable so you can get the best recovery possible.
5 attachments to meet any muscle need
The X6 Pro Massage comes with all the same attachments as the others in the Bob and Brad series – as well as one additional attachment that no other massage gun by any brand offers.
This is a metal flat head attachment made out of aircraft-grade titanium alloy that can be heated up or cooled down to offer cold massage or heat massage to the muscles! How cool is that?
Let’s take a look at each attachment in detail:
#1: Metal Flat Head
This attachment is the most unique attachment on the market.
It can be heated up or cooled down to offer a specialized type of massage. To heat it up you just place the attachment in a bowl of hot water for about 10-15 minutes. To cool it down, place it in the freezer for at least 30 minutes.
(Of course, use caution when picking up the hot metal to place it on the massage gun!)
This attachment is really great for all areas of the body and major muscle groups.
It is your all-purpose attachment. Another great tip is adding some diluted essential oil to help it move smoothly over the body and add some aromatherapy to your massage as well.
Because it is a metal attachment, the oil can be cleaned off easily without being absorbed into the material like many other guns on the market.
#2: Ball Head
This attachment looks like its name and is essentially a large sphere that offers a wide surface area and can penetrate all major muscle groups. It is fantastic for a deep, widespread massage.
It is a little stiffer, so it offers a harder massage compared to some gentler attachments.
#3: Bullet Head
This attachment is great for deep tissue massage and is designed to massage close to the joint space and trigger point area.
It has a small surface area that can focus on specific problem areas and avoid sensitive places like tendons and ligaments.
#4: Fork Head
This attachment was designed specifically to help with lower leg pain around the Achilles Tendon. You can avoid the tendon itself while getting the muscles around the area.
It is also fantastic for the cervical spine and upper shoulder.
#5: Air Cushioned Head
This is the most gentle of the five heads, offering a softer rather than a deep tissue massage.
It is great for really sensitive areas or muscles that are extremely sore, and need gentler treatment.
As you can see, all of these attachments were intentionally designed for specific muscles and muscle groups.
More Specs and Snazzy Features
Like the other massage guns offered in Bob and Brad’s range, there are five speeds of pressure ranging from 2000 RPM to 3200 RPM.
This allows you to use a softer pressure at the beginning and then work up to the higher intensity, deep massage.
The X6 Pro is a little bigger and heavier than other massage guns, but it offers more power and is still very lightweight.
Despite the added power, the X6 Pro is still extremely quiet (55db) thanks to its brushless motor noise.
Another added feature to this massage gun is the extended battery life!
It will last up to 240 minutes and reaches a full battery in as short as 3.5 hours and it comes with its own charger!
The final snazzy feature of the X6 Pro massage gun is the navy blue case that it comes in.
As soon as you open the box, it’s hard not to appreciate the sleek design of the X6 Pro and its organized carry case. The case even offers a fan at the top to keep the product from over-heating.
These various features really set this model apart from the others offered by Bob and Brad.
Now onto how our lucky tester liked the product.
The Road Test: Our Review
After trying all of Bob and Brad’s massage guns this one is at the top of my list.
It is definitely clear that this is their massage gun King.
The X6 Pro is heavy-duty, sleek, and perfectly ergonomic. Lightweight and powerful. High-quality yet affordable.
However, not everyone needs this amount of force and pressure and this massage gun is really ideal for athletes and those in a physical therapy clinic.
If you are a marathon runner looking for an out-of-this-world recovery tool, this one is for you.
However, the added titanium attachment is a really cool feature. This is my favorite attachment to use now!
Having both hot and cool massage definitely helps with bringing blood flow into the area and then reducing inflammation.
I really appreciated this massage gun after the Boston Marathon and being able to have an at-home tool was really critical to recovering.
While it is still small, the X6 Pro is not as portable as the others in Bob and Brad’s range. For this reason, I recommend using this one only at home and having the Q2 on hand for travel.
The X6 Pro Massage Gun: Wrapping Up
Overall, the X6 Pro massage gun is a winner and I highly recommend it for active people who need a lot of power or deep tissue massage.
The X6 Pro massage gun is definitely Bob and Brad’s highest quality and most powerful massage gun offered.
It has added a lot of special features which make it one of the best options on the market.
The one key feature that no other massage gun offers is the titanium alloy metal head allowing for hot and cold massage, which was a game-changer for my recovery!
Overall, the X6 Pro offers more pressure, force, and features while keeping an affordable price for all users. A win, win, win!
