The ever-popular Ingebrigtsen brothers — Henrik, Filip, and Jakob — may have a career outside the track. The trio has ventured into the music scene, releasing a pop anthem just in time for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Known for their stellar performances on the track, the trio has now donned a new identity as “The IngebritZ” with their debut single “Nobody does it better” (Ingen gjør det bedre), aiming to pump up the Norwegian spirit for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic games.
The song, which is clearly full of energy and national pride, was filmed at altitude in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where the brothers were preparing for the Olympics.
This new venture was a quick turnaround, with the idea originating just a few years ago but rapidly coming to fruition in less than three weeks. NRK, Norway’s government-owned Olympic broadcaster, collaborated with a production company known for creating popular friendship songs. The result is a vibrant, catchy tune supported by the expert production of Tormod Løkling and the visual genius of photographer Balder Maximus Harlan.
The music video is quite an energetic treat. It features the Ingebrigtsen brothers singing on picturesque mountain tops and clips of past Norwegian Olympic triumphs. The brothers’ athletic and musical talents make for an interesting watch for the non-Norwegian eye, and are an ode to Norway for those from there.
Jakob, who is set to defend his Olympic title in the 1500m and compete in the 5000m, lets loose in the video, showcasing a lighter, more playful side. This contrasts with his usual serious demeanor on the track, where he has established himself as a top competitor.
Filip said to NRK that his hope is that the song will not only resonate with fans during the Olympics but also become a staple at stadiums and afterparties. The timing of the song’s release, just a day before the opening ceremony in Paris, seems poised to achieve this goal.
Whether or not “Nobody does it better” becomes the anthem of the Paris 2024 Olympics, it has certainly added a unique and entertaining chapter to the Ingebrigtsen brothers’ legacy.
On top of producing the latest Norwegian hit and after the success of “Team Ingebrigtsen,“ the trio—Henrik, Filip, and Jakob—are also preparing to captivate audiences once again in a brand-new documentary series, this time in collaboration with American streaming giant Amazon Prime.
