At this year’s Boston Marathon weekend, we got to be among the first to test out the Wahoo KICKR RUN: perhaps the most sophisticated treadmill of all time.

A high-tech running machine, it can change its speed in real time based on its user’s running speed, it connects to a handful of apps like the interactive fitness platform Zwift, and its landing strip moves quickly enough to sustain four-minute mile pace — all of it makes running in place seem, well, not so bad.

In our first-look video review, our senior Alex Cyr shares his in-depth first run test experience of the KICKR RUN, reveals if he was able sustain the treadmill’s top speed, and tells us who might benefit most from this impressive piece of exercise equipment.
