We certainly didn’t attempt to hide the fact that it is published by Human Kinetics, which happens to be the largest publisher of running books in the world, which means that most books we would look at to excerptwould likely be published by HK. (It is not so many years ago that major book publishers published

magazines that excerpted almost nothing but their own books, e.g., Scribner’s, Colliers, etc.) The biggest, longest excerpt we’ve published has been Ed Dodd’s The Great Six-Day Races, which was not an HK book. I’m not certain how publishing excerpts from books published by Human Kinetics goes against journalistic ethics.
