Rodrigue Kwizera And Likina Amebaw Prevail At Soria Internation Cross-Country Meet

The 58th edition of the Cross Internacional de Soria (Soria International Cross), hosted at the revered Monte Valonsadero de Soria, witnessed an extraordinary display of athletic excellence and team supremacy.

The competition, featuring over 2,600 participants, unfolded with remarkable victories in the men’s, women’s, and mixed relay categories across an 8.8k course.

Notable performances included Ethiopian Likina Amebaw and Burundian Rodrigue Kwizera, who emerged victorious in the women’s and men’s races, respectively.

The Soria International Cross, a dual event featuring both national and international competitors, showcased the triumphs of various athletes across diverse categories.

Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw displayed remarkable speed and endurance in the women’s race, securing victory in a thrilling final sprint. Her compatriot Asayech Ayichew and Italian athlete Valentina Gemetto joined her on the podium.

The team title in the women’s category went to the outstanding squad of Playas de Castellón, earning 23 points collectively.

The men’s race unfolded as a fiercely contested battle, with Burundian athlete Rodrigue Kwizera narrowly edging out Kenyan contender Hillary Chepkwoni in a thrilling finish. Ugandan Martin Kiprotich secured the third position.

The overall team victory in the men’s category went to the team of Playas de Castellón.

A diverse team showcased exceptional teamwork and skill in the mixed relay, resulting in a captivating competition. The race featured Aragonese athletes Jorge David Torre, Mireya Arnedillo, Judith Otazua, and Víctor Ruiz.
