Day 4 of the 2026 European Athletics Championships produced a landmark for the host nation and three more track titles at Alexander Stadium on August 13. Amy Hunt, who had won the 100m on the opening night, added the 200m in 22.19 to complete the sprint double, edging Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke and fellow Briton Dina Asher-Smith. Ireland had a champion of its own in Mark English, who won a tactical men’s 800m in 1:45.26, and Germany’s Gesa Felicitas Krause returned to the top of the podium in the women’s 3000m steeplechase in 9:12.69, leading a German one-three-four.
