The 2026 European Athletics Championships run from August 10 to 16 at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, the first time a British city has staged the event, and just over a week after the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The storylines are stacked: Jakob Ingebrigtsen chasing the 1500m and 5000m, a rematch with Josh Kerr over 1500m, and home favorites Keely Hodgkinson and Georgia Hunter Bell in the 800m.

If you only care about the running, here is the schedule, day by day. Each day runs a morning session and an evening session. All times are British Summer Time and, as always, subject to change. Finals are in bold. This covers the track events and the marathon.

The marathons open the final day, with the women’s race at 07:30 on Sunday morning and the men’s at 08:10. That evening brings a loaded close, with both 4x400m relay finals, the women’s 1500m, the men’s steeplechase and the mixed 4x100m all inside 90 minutes. Friday night stacks up too, with the men’s 200m and 400m hurdles finals alongside the women’s 800m, and the meet opens fast, with the men’s 5000m and the women’s 100m both decided on the very first night.
