BBC to Broadcast Athlos London, the League’s First Meet Outside the US

The BBC will broadcast Athlos London in September, the first event the all-women’s track and field league has staged outside the United States.

The meet begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, at StoneX Stadium, the 10,500-seat home of the Saracens rugby club in north London. The BBC will show it live and on demand across its digital platforms, the broadcaster’s first involvement with the series. Kayla Green, the league’s acting president, said in announcing the deal that the BBC was the right partner to introduce Athlos to British fans.

Keely Hodgkinson, the Olympic 800m champion, headlines a field that also includes Sha’Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, Georgia Hunter Bell, Amber Anning and Tara Davis-Woodhall.

Athlos was founded in 2024 by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian through his venture capital firm, Seven Seven Six, and staged its first two meets in New York. For 2026 it expanded to two events and raised its prize pool to more than $2.1 million, paying $65,000 for an event win and giving its champions a stake in the league itself. The meet will also be shown on ESPN and ION in the United States and streamed on X and YouTube.

The BBC’s coverage comes about a month after it broadcasts the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, the first time the continental championships have been held in the UK.
