The three leaders are all together, but Hellen Obiri has come to the front. Will we see it come down to a fast finish or will someone start to crack under the pressure of the pace?

The women’s pace makers are out!

The race is on between Assefa, Obiri, and Jepkosgei, and right away Assefa surged and is pushing the pace.

10:32 am BST
Tower Bridge for the men’s race; Cutty Sark for the mass

The elite men are approaching Tower Bridge — the emotional high point of the course, with crowds five to ten deep on both sides. The mass field, meanwhile, is hitting the Cutty Sark, where the noise reflects off the river. Two of the most photographed sections of the marathon are happening simultaneously. The day is opening up.

10:31 am BST
Keep an eye on these numbers as we get into the back end of the race

Here are some numbers to keep in mind as the race goes on:

Women’s only world record: 2:15:50 (Tigst Assefa, 2025)
Women’s course record: 2:15:25 (Paula Radcliffe, 2003)
Men’s world record: 2:00:35 (Kelvin Kiptum, 2023)
Men’s course record: 2:01:25 (Kelvin Kiptum, 2023)

10:31 am BST
Current predicted finish times

At this point in the race, the women are on pace for 2:13, well inside the record, and the men are on pace for 2:01:25.

10:29 am BST
A key moment coming soon

A key moment in the women’s race will come any moment.

When the pace makers step away, this is when the race truly begins and anything could happen. Will we see the pace slow and it become a tactical game? Or will we see the lead three women push the pace and see who can hang on the longest?
