Saucony has released a short film, and it’s not quite like anything the running brand has put out before.
“The Runners,” which premiered Thursday night at New York City’s Metrograph theater before going live on YouTube Friday morning, is a meditative piece that moves through run crews, events, collaborations, and the kinds of quiet moments that runners recognize โ with no voiceover, no product pitch, no countdown to a finish line.
The premiere was invite-only, bringing together brand partners, creative collaborators, and members of the Saucony community in a setting that the brand says was itself a reflection of the film’s message.
“We wanted to create something that felt honest and meditative,” said Gus Johnston, Creative Director at Saucony. “This isn’t a marketing campaign, it’s a reflection of who we are.”
What You’re Actually Watching
The film threads together run crews, events, collaborations, and the kind of in-between moments โ lacing up, cooling down, just existing alongside other people who get it โ that don’t usually make the highlight reel but are honestly why most of us run.
It’s built around “Run as One,” the brand mantra Saucony has been leaning into for a while now, which sounds like marketing speak until you watch the film and realize they actually mean it.
Brand President Rob Griffiths put it plainly: “Running is ultimately about the connections we forge, the communities we build, and the collective energy that propels us forward. This film is a tribute to every runner who has ever felt that sense of belonging on the run.”
If you’ve ever stayed at a group run longer than you planned, or cried a little at a finish line and then immediately denied it, you know exactly what he’s talking about.

A Quick History Lesson
Saucony has been around since 1898, which makes it older than most countries’ running federations and practically ancient by sneaker brand standards. It’s now part of Wolverine World Wide and best known in running circles for its PWRRUN cushioning and SPEEDROLL geometry โ technologies that have earned the brand a loyal following among runners who care about what’s actually on their feet. If you want to see those technologies in action, our best running shoes of 2026 roundup is a good place to start.
The film is free to watch on Saucony’s YouTube channel, which, for a piece this well made, feels like a good deal.
