As of late, Snoop Dogg has been proving that his talents extend far beyond his career as a musician and rapper. At the U.S. Olympic Team Track and Field Trials, Snoop showed he could definitely have a future in sports commentating and maybe even as a 200m runner (though not Olympic level, sorry, Snoop).

Now, Snoop can add “Olympic Torch Bearer” to his list of accolades and titles. The 52-year-old carried the Olympic flame through an area next to the Stade de France, where athletics events will be held, in the northern Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis.

In an Instagram interview, Snoop acknowledged the honor of carrying the Olympic Torch.

“This says a lot about America as far as where we’re at in this world,” he said. “At the same time, it says a lot about France as far as connecting the dots and allowing me to do this. I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this.

I’m going to be on my best behavior,” he continued. “I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow, to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is.”

Fans lined the streets of the French city on Friday to watch Snoop carry the Olympic torch, and social media users who couldn’t be there in person loved it.

The Olympic opening ceremonies begin tomorrow, Saturday, July 26, with athletics beginning one week later on August 1.
