Ahead of its Nov. 13 release date, Netflix just uploaded the first full-length trailer for Sprint, The World’s Fastest Humans, Part 2, as the series is now titled. The second instalment of the docuseries follows the world’s fastest 100m and 200m runners as they compete at this past summer’s Paris Olympic Games.

If you followed the track events in Paris, you won’t be surprised to see that breakout international stars like Julien Alfred, Letsile Tebogo and Kishane Thompson are prominently featured in the trailer, along with Americans Gabby Thomas, Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles, who headlined season one as well.

Sprint is produced by the same team that created Drive to Survive (F1 racing), Unchained (the Tour de France), Full Swing (the PGA Tour) and Break Point (professional tennis). Drive to Survive is widely credited as instrumental in triggering the massive growth of F1 racing in recent years. The series is now heading into its seventh season. Both Unchained and Full Swing have completed two seasons and are seen as moderate successes that have played more to each sport’s core fanbase. Break Point was cancelled after two seasons.

By all accounts, the first season of the Sprint, which documented the lead-up and races at last summer’s World Athletics Championships in Budapest, drew in new fans to track and field. The series performed well in the United States and internationally, according to sites that track streamer data, and helped establish the storylines and personalities of the featured athletes for the 2024 Olympic Games. But it is not expected to have the impact that Drive to Survive has had on motorsports.

All four episodes for Sprint Part 2 should drop at once on Netflix on Nov. 13 for those who are super eager to binge watch it all in one shot. The producers have yet to reveal whether or not the series will continue beyond this Olympic cycle.

And be sure to listen to our podcast for a breakdown of season two of Sprint shortly after its release date.
