Just after crossing the finish line at the 2025 New York City Marathon, Eliud Kipchoge unveiled a new personal mission: a two-year, seven-continent marathon tour called Eliudโs Running World.
The project will see Kipchoge race seven existing marathons across all seven continents, in an effort to raise $1 million USD for the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation, which supports education and environmental causes.
The official website, EliudsRunningWorld.com, is now live, though exact races and dates havenโt yet been announced.

According to the projectโs description, Kipchogeโs goal is to bring the global running community together while continuing to challenge himself. โEliudโs biggest dream has always been to make this world a running world,โ the website reads. โAnd now the time has come to make this dream a reality.โ
The announcement marks a new phase for Kipchoge, who turned 40 last November and remains one of the most decorated distance runners in history. Over the last decade, heโs won 16 marathons, including five Berlin and four London titles, along with back-to-back Olympic golds in Rio and Tokyo.
He also held the official world record (2:01:09) before Kelvin Kiptum ran 2:00:35 at the 2023 Chicago marathon, and famously became the first person to run a sub-two-hour marathon in Vienna in 2019, though that effort was not record-eligible due to pacing and support conditions.
But this latest move isnโt about medals or fast times, itโs about impact. Kipchoge launched his foundation in 2020 with a focus on education and sustainability.
So far, its work has included building libraries, expanding kindergarten access in Kenya, and restoring forests through sustainable agriculture programs. With Eliudโs Running World, each marathon stop will also support local projects tied to the foundationโs mission.

No locations have been officially confirmed, but the plan includes one race each in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and Antarctica.
New York, where he just raced for the first time, could very well count as his North American stop.
The campaign also encourages fans to get involved. The website hints that runners will be able to join Kipchoge on parts of the journey, though itโs not yet clear whether that means public entries to the same races, community runs, or virtual events. A newsletter sign-up is available for anyone who wants updates.
Weโll share more details as soon as the first city and date are revealed. In the meantime, Kipchogeโs next chapter is officially underway, and this time, the whole world is part of it.
