But that’s not the end of Kerley’s legal troubles.

Following this incident, authorities revisited a domestic violence case from May 2024 involving his estranged wife, Angelica Taylor. Taylor alleges that during an argument over an Instagram message, Kerley became aggressive, leading her to punch him out of fear. She claims he then pushed her to the ground and choked her, making her fear for her life. Kerley is now facing charges of domestic battery by strangulation and strong-arm robbery in connection with this incident.

In a recent court appearance, Taylor expressed her intent to press charges, stating, “They asked me to be here and speak on his behalf, but I want to proceed with pressing charges on him.” She also mentioned that seeing the video of Kerley’s recent altercation with police made her feel he showed no remorse for his past actions.

Kerley’s attorneys have criticized the police’s handling of the Miami Beach arrest, suggesting that the officers’ actions were excessive. They have not yet commented on the domestic violence charges.

As these legal proceedings unfold, Kerley’s athletic career hangs in the balance. Known for his remarkable speed and accolades on the track, he now faces significant challenges off the field that could impact his future in the sport.
