Recap: World Athletics Ultimate Championships Day 3

Kenny Bednarek and Melissa Jefferson-Wooden both completed the sprint double on the closing night in Budapest, a day after winning the 100m. Bednarek ran 19.52 for a world lead that puts him seventh on the all-time list, and Jefferson-Wooden won hers in 21.47. Each of them takes $300,000 out of the weekend, two titles at $150,000 apiece.

Eleven finals closed the first Ultimate Championship. Rumesh Pathirage threw 91.09m in the javelin, the first 90m throw in Hungary, and Josh Kerr won a 1,500m that Jakob Ingebrigtsen did not start. Across the three nights the United States won 10 of the 28 titles.
