Running a marathon is already a wild ride, but doing it in Crocs? That’s a whole different vibe. Australian runner Dan Camac just took on the Cadbury Marathon in Tasmania in a bright yellow pair of Crocs (iconic choice, honestly) and absolutely crushed it, finishing in 2 hours and 49 minutes. That’s an unofficial world record for the fastest marathon run in Crocs—beating the old record by about two minutes. The previous time was just set at the New York City Marathon last November.
Why Crocs, you ask? Because why not? Camac decided to take on the ultimate running challenge by ditching traditional running shoes for everyone’s favorite rubber clogs. At first, he said they actually felt fine—kind of like regular shoes. But after a few miles? Let’s just say his feet weren’t exactly thrilled with this particular life choice. Blisters and sore calves aside, Dan powered through to make Crocs history.
The marathon itself saw about 1,900 runners hit the scenic course, with participants ranging from first-timers with New Year’s resolutions to elite athletes. While Dan was busy making Crocs cool (again?) and coming in an impressive 11th place overall, the winner, Fraser Darcy (in his debut) finished in 2:26.
And what’s the sub-two marathon barrier equivalent in Crocs? Probably 2:19:59, which was just smashed in “super sandals” by a Kenyan runner racing in Thailand.

Camac must now wait on the Guinness World Records team to officially ratify his time, but record or not, the man just proved that sport mode isn’t just a meme—it’s legit. With heart, hustle, and a little bit of rubber, anything is possible.
So, is it time to trade in your super shoes for Crocs? Probably not. But you’ve got to admit—Dan Camac made them look pretty good.
