Bandit Running Opens Its First Permanent European Store in Barcelona

Runners in Barcelona will soon be able to buy a new long sleeve, answer a few emails and sit in a sauna without leaving the building. Bandit Running, the apparel brand founded in Brooklyn in 2020, opens its first store in Europe that isn’t a pop-up on Oct. 1, at Carrer de Pau Claris 126 in the Eixample district, and it is sharing the building with the Madrid running shop Odda.

Behind the two retail floors there are showers, a cold plunge and a sauna for anyone finishing a run there, along with a coworking area where people can sit and work. Plenty of runners already build a cold plunge into their post-run routine, even though a recent study found that ice baths after interval sessions did little either way for endurance gains. The store also carries a Bandit x Odda collection that can’t be bought anywhere else.

Bandit’s Move Into Marathon Cities

Odda was stocking Bandit in Madrid well before the two brands put their names on the same door. They first worked together in Barcelona in March, at a pop-up over Barcelona Marathon weekend, when the 2026 race was run on March 15. That weekend brought Bandit’s first Barcelona capsule and a shakeout run on the Saturday.

A permanent store is the next step in an overseas push that Glossy reported on in July, with Bandit aiming at the cities that host big marathons, Berlin and Tokyo among them. At home it has four stores, in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Los Angeles and Chicago, and it raised nearly $15 million in 2023. A big part of the business is its $125-a-year membership, and Glossy reported that members spend roughly triple what everyone else does. The Chicago store in Bucktown, according to Athletech News, came with its own city capsule and a coffee bar run by Soloway Coffee.

Away from the shops, Bandit stages the Bandit Grand Prix, a lapped race held under lights in Brooklyn, and its Unsponsored Project gives cash and kit to athletes who race the U.S. championships without a sponsor.

Inside L’Espai

L’Espai, Catalan for “the space,” has two doors, one into Odda’s shop and one into Bandit’s, where the brand sells its current season next to the staples it always keeps in stock. According to the brands, most of the fit-out reused the old interior, right down to a brick wall that became the big table in the middle of the room.

The Barcelona capsule runs to five pieces: a hoodie, a cotton tee, a nanomesh long sleeve, a Barcelona version of Bandit’s Lite Run sock and a performance run hat. Bandit describes the capsule as “inspired by Barcelona at golden hour,” and its colors and graphics nod to the city’s patterned pavements and to Gaudí.

Opening night, Oct. 1, starts with a social run from the store at 7 p.m., with bag drop from 6:30. Afterward the brands launch “Why Running,” a community project on what keeps people in the sport. Runners are asked to register in advance. From then on L’Espai is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 to 8:30 p.m.
