Forgot to replace your worn-out running shoes before tonight’s tempo run? Realized your ancient Garmin will no longer hold a charge, an hour before a long run?
Thanks to a new partnership between DICK’S Sporting Goods and Uber Eats, you can now get running gear delivered to your door, fast enough to salvage your workout.
This week, DICK’S and its golf sibling brand Golf Galaxy officially launched on the Uber Eats platform, offering same-day delivery from more than 800 locations nationwide. That means you can now order shoes, foam rollers, GPS watches, and other running essentials with just a few taps, no store detour necessary.

It’s a big move for both companies. For DICK’S, it’s another step in meeting athletes and weekend warriors where they are (sometimes in a gear emergency, sometimes just in their pajamas).
“We believe that speed and convenience is key,” said Scott Casciato, DICK’S Vice President of Omni-channel Fulfillment and Strategy, in a statement. “This partnership extends our capabilities to give athletes convenient shopping when they need gear fast.”
The two brands aren’t strangers to delivery workarounds, DICK’S briefly teamed up with Instacart back in 2020 for a holiday-season pilot, but this time, the scale is much bigger. It also reflects a broader trend: as Uber expands its delivery empire beyond takeout, it’s aiming to become the app you open when you need, well, almost anything.
“As people head outdoors this season, we’re excited to bring DICK’S Sporting Goods’ trusted selection right to their doorstep,” said Hashim Amin, Uber’s Head of Retail for North America, in a statement.
And while yes, that might include yoga mats and backyard sports gear, it’s the running gear that may be most useful when your pre-race checklist falls apart.
“This is about removing friction from the experience,” retail analyst Neil Saunders of GlobalData said in a recent interview. “Convenience isn’t just a bonus, it’s a baseline.”

To try it out, you can head to the “Retail” section of the Uber Eats app, choose your local DICK’S or Golf Galaxy, and scroll through a surprisingly deep inventory of gear. While stock may vary by store, you’ll typically find core training items, hydration tools, running socks, and more. Add to cart, schedule delivery (or order ASAP), and track your gear in real time as it makes its way to your doorstep.
The timing isn’t bad either. With summer race build-ups, travel season, and hot-weather training all in full swing, runners are more likely than ever to need a quick fix. And while it probably won’t solve your mid-run blister situation, it might save your weekend long run, or at least your sanity.
