If you thought elite athletes were already tracking every heartbeat, nap, and restless night, you were right, and now it’s official.
Oura, the company behind the Oura Ring, announced Friday that it has been named the Official Wearable of Team USA and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The deal makes Oura the exclusive provider in the category of continuous health and fitness tracking devices for Team USA and LA28.
That means U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes preparing for the 2026 Winter Games and the 2028 Summer Games will receive an Oura Ring, designed to track sleep, readiness, and recovery.

“U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes operate in environments that demand careful attention to recovery, sleep, and overall wellbeing,” Tom Hale, Oura’s chief executive officer, said in the announcement. He called the partnership a way to give athletes “scientifically validated insights” to help guide training decisions.
Oura isn’t new to the Team USA ecosystem. The company said it has supported several U.S. national governing bodies since 2024, including U.S. Ski & Snowboard and USA Hockey. In 2025, it expanded to U.S. Speed Skating and women’s soccer, including work focused on sleep therapy and recovery.
Ricky Bloomfield, Oura’s chief medical officer, said the partnership is rooted in the idea that sleep and recovery are “foundational elements” of performance, not just nice-to-haves.
Team USA’s chief medical officer, Jonathan Finnoff, echoed that message, saying wearables like the Oura Ring can help athletes and medical staff make more informed and individualized decisions as they prepare for Olympic and Paralympic competition.
The partnership also extends beyond athletes. Oura will support NBCUniversal’s coverage of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games and the LA28 Games, giving the brand a major presence during Olympic broadcasts.

Oura was founded in Finland in 2013 and now operates with headquarters in both Oulu, Finland, and San Francisco. The company said its ring tracks more than 50 health metrics continuously and was last valued at approximately $11 billion.
The company also noted that the Oura Ring is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions.
For runners, the message is pretty clear: sleep tracking isn’t just a hobby for Strava nerds anymore. It’s officially part of the Olympic machine.
