I’ve been using Injinji toe socks for years now and wouldn’t switch them out for any others.

I use them for road running, trail running, competing, and even for lounging around the house. There are no other toe socks on the market that can compare for comfort and quality.

#1: Ultimate Comfort

The best part about using Injinjis is that they are so comfortable you don’t even notice wearing them.

As athletes, that’s exactly what we want. As an ultramarathoner, I have to protect my feet as best as possible, seeing that if they fail me, I’m as good as done for a race or training session. 

Using Injinji toe socks, I have not experienced blisters, nor hot spots as the toe sleeves keep my toes from rubbing against each other.

Another important detail is that it has solved the problem of my big toe overlapping my second toe. Keeping them separated in their individual toe sleeves, I no longer experience chafing or an uncomfortable position.

Keeping my toes separate provides me with the utmost comfort. It gives me one less thing to worry about during training and racing. 

Depending on the weight you choose and the fact that each toe has its own sleeve, the Injinji toe socks can be bulkier than other running socks.

Therefore, be sure that each toe is appropriately in place when you put the socks on, so there is no bunching of the material on any part of your foot.

#2: Great Variety

I have many different styles, weights, and heights depending on my training session, long run, race, or outfit! 

For road running, I prefer no-shows or micro height. With asphalt terrain, there’s no need to worry about mud or pebbles making their way into my socks.

I also use the lightweight versions, as road shoes are snugger than roomy trail running shoes, so I need less cushioning. 

I prefer crew or over the calf for length and midweight for thickness on the trail. This provides all-around more protection and cushioning for a smoother ride on technical terrain.  

Another variety feature that has nothing to do with comfort – but certainly is fun – is the wide variety of colors and patterns! We’re talking bright pinks and teals, flowers or geometric designs, or even simple old grey. I mean, check these ones out!

#3: Quick Removal

One quick tip.

When taking off these socks, it’s a good idea to pull gently from the toes so the toe sleeves don’t turn inside out.

  1. Excellent review. Have been wearing Injinji for decades, buying when can find size and weight and rarely discard. Wear with slippers, instead of slippers, to bed, hiking, walking, compression sox on airplanes. First useful, comprehensive review of line. Thank you.       Thomas the editor here – I started wearing them 10 years ago and they’re my go-to sock for everything. Have you noticed your toes separating a little after years or wearing them? My toes used to be bunched together after years of wearing shoes, now I can splay them wide open – my feet look like they’ve never worn shoes!


  2. I have been wearing toe socks for a little over 3 years & wish I’d discovered them sooner.
    Having bunions & hammer toes, I’ve found these help keep my hammer toes separated & tend to gently flatten them out. When I was diagnosed with PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease), I discovered wearing Injinji toe socks worked very well for me. Individuals with PAD should not wear compression socks; however, Injinji toe socks provide a gentle massaging action that will not only encourage blood circulation but will also keep a person’s feet & toes warm, which helps blood in one’s feet & toes to circulate better. When I take my toe socks off at the end of the day, my feet & toes are a natural color not the nasty magenta/purplish color they are when I wear regular socks. I also like to wear the merino wool liners & wear regular weight or heavy weight socks over them.
