Jorts Have Made Their Way Into The Running World

The denim look has been making waves in more than one sport this year.

Forget everything you know about running attire—sleek, moisture-wicking, and lightweight. Satisfy Running, a French apparel brand is bringing jorts (jean shorts, if you’re unfamiliar) to the running world.

The buzz around this unconventional trend began on X earlier this month when a user shared a photo of these shorts. The post went viral, garnering over 80,000 views, and Satisfy Running’s PeaceShell™ 5-inch inseam Digital Denim Shorts sold out rapidly soon after.

Selling at CAD $290, they’re arguably the priciest (but most fashionable?) running shorts you’ll find.

Despite their denim appearance, these shorts are made entirely of polyester. They feature a digital print that mimics vintage Levi’s Orange Tab 517 jeans. They include two front pockets and a zippered sweatproof back pocket, ideal for gels, keys, and cards, merging style with practicality.

The denim look seems to be invading the world of endurance sports because this isn’t the first time the trend has emerged recently. Earlier this year, in February, professional cycling team Alpecin Deceuninck revealed a new double denim look for 2024. Both the jersey and shorts for the professional cycling team use digital print for a classic blue jean look

For those looking to stand out, running in jorts is a bold choice. Who knows? We might even see these trendy shorts on an Olympic team one day (Canadian tuxedo, anyone?!).
