Forget everything you know about running attireโ€”sleek, moisture-wicking, and lightweight. Satisfy Running, a French apparel brand is bringing jorts (jean shorts, if youโ€™re unfamiliar) to the running world.

The buzz around this unconventional trend began on X earlier this month when a user shared a photo of these shorts. The post went viral, garnering over 80,000 views, and Satisfy Running’s PeaceShellโ„ข 5-inch inseam Digital Denim Shorts sold out rapidly soon after.ย

Selling at CAD $290, theyโ€™re arguably the priciest (but most fashionable?) running shorts you’ll find.

Despite their denim appearance, these shorts are made entirely of polyester. They feature a digital print that mimics vintage Leviโ€™s Orange Tab 517 jeans. They include two front pockets and a zippered sweatproof back pocket, ideal for gels, keys, and cards, merging style with practicality.

The denim look seems to be invading the world of endurance sports because this isnโ€™t the first time the trend has emerged recently. Earlier this year, in February, professional cycling team Alpecin Deceuninck revealed a new double denim look for 2024. Both the jersey and shorts for the professional cycling team use digital print for a classic blue jean look

For those looking to stand out, running in jorts is a bold choice. Who knows? We might even see these trendy shorts on an Olympic team one day (Canadian tuxedo, anyone?!).
